SHORT BIO

Dustin Reichert is a retired Deputy Sheriff and Purple Heart recipient from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office in Andover, MN, where he served primarily in the patrol division and was the department’s first certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and later a DRE instructor. He also worked as a Detective on the Anoka-Hennepin Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.

In 2003, Dustin survived a violent gun battle during what began as a routine call. The incident led to a two-year battle to recover and eventual medical retirement, as well as a personal journey through Complex PTSD. He later shared his story in the book “10-88! Officer Down” and now speaks nationwide, inspiring others through his experience.

Dustin is also a professional hypnotist, team-building specialist, husband, proud father of three, and dog lover. His journey is one of resilience, healing, and purpose.

Dustin Reichert is a retired Deputy Sheriff and Purple Heart recipient from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office in Minnesota, whose powerful journey from service to survival has inspired audiences across the country. Born in a small river town and raised on the north side of Minneapolis, Dustin graduated from Minnetonka High School and went on to earn his Associate’s Degree from Inver Hills Community College and a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University.

Dustin began his law enforcement career with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office before joining the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, where he served primarily in the patrol division. His dedication and keen investigative instincts led him to work as a detective on the Anoka-Hennepin Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force. He became the department’s first Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and later a certified DRE instructor.

In 2003, Dustin’s life took a dramatic turn when he was critically wounded in a violent gun battle in Andover, Minnesota. After a two-year effort to recover, he was medically retired due to his injuries. Alongside the physical toll, he quietly battled the lasting effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)—a struggle that became central to his journey of healing.

Over the next two decades, Dustin immersed himself in self-discovery and recovery, exploring every path he could to reclaim his life. His transformation ultimately gave rise to a new mission: helping others navigate their own hardships. Through his book “10-88! Officer Down” and powerful in-person storytelling, Dustin now travels the country as a motivational speaker, team-building specialist, and professional hypnotist. His ability to connect with audiences on a personal level has made him a sought-after voice on resilience, leadership, and mental wellness.

Away from the spotlight, Dustin finds strength and joy in his family life. He is a devoted father to three sons, deeply in love with his wife, and grounded by the companionship of his loyal dogs, Ruby and Jasmine.
